Our Story
We moved from Austin, Texas to the Millville, Delaware area to bring a taste of back home good ole’ Texas Barbecue!
Where our idea sparked of naming our business BackHome BBQ, because “There’s no better feeling than being back home.”
Raised in Connecticut Pit Master Nicholas Rivera traveled and worked along side many talented BBQ pit masters from many states including Connecticut, North Carolina, Louisiana, & Texas. He has also participated in many barbecue food festivals, perfecting his craft in Brisket, Ribs, Pork Belly, & Whole Hog.
Jocelyn Paniagua was born and raised in Waco Texas, coming from immigrant parents she learned many family recipes and ways of cooking. Jocelyn attended Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas where she received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts. She has worked and studied with many chefs learning a variety of different styles of foods and techniques, and soon took the challenge of adding pastries to her craft.
We are two passionate, ambitious chefs wanting to spread the love of food and Texas BBQ Culture. Wether it be something sweet or savory, our goal is to make everyone feel like they’re enjoying a plate with us
